Our story continues as the Hulk battles the Humanoid Horde following the evens from last issue. The marine task force edges closer and closer, far away from the struggle. Everybody is puzzled by these plastic pseudo-men, but give them no mind. They throw the grenades, but the Hulk swims away after the explosion. The Leader commands his creations to retreat, finding defeat once again.
Major Talbot arrives on the scene and finds no trace of the enemy or the Hulk. The soldiers are then commanded to search for Banner.
Miles away, Banner returns to normal but is swept by the tides. Unlucky for him, a Soviet detachment has found him. The Captain quickly recognizes Dr. Banner, the famous American scientist, and intends to take them to their secret base. Poor Bruce, he just got out of being hanged for treason, and now this will not help his case one bit, now that the Soviets have him.
Back on Astra Isle, Major Talbot receives news that Banner was picked up by the Soviets, and this confirms his fears that our hero has defected for good. Elsewhere, the Leader recovers his Humanoids and realizes he too must find Banner.
Landing in an Easter European nation, Banenr is brought onto a weapons research center. The head honcho tells Banner if he wishes to live and be fed, he will obey orders, no questions asked. Banner is taken to the lab to meet his new colleagues and see his new workspace. One of the men held captive here is a geophysicist named Stromm, whom the whole world believes to be dead. It is unknown if he is related to the Spider-Man villain, Mendel Stromm, the Robot Master, but at least we know that Stan Lee remembered the name to use it in the issue published next year.
Another scientist sees Banner, and starts freaking out about the bleakness of this situation. He quickly calls for everyone to rise up and revolt, but everybody else is too gaslighted to do anything. The soldiers beat the crap out of him and take him away into isolation. Banner reluctantly agrees, but is taken to another cell, one the size of a cube, barely enough to sit. He wills himself to transform into the Hulk and breaks out. The Reds start firing an advanced laser cannon, but the Hulk blocks it using the floor as a shield. He rampages through the base and destroys most of the in house weapons. With a mighty thunderclap, the rest of the forces flees, running for their lives.
The Hulk notices that he was wounded from the vaporizer, and quickly gets help from the man who was beaten earlier. They sit down to eat, allowing the Hulk some rest.
Meanwhile the Soviet honcho calls for more forces to come to his aid, telling them that they are dealing with the Hulk. He also prepares, carrying a proton gun, capable of destroying matter, as the villain implies. What will happen next? How will the Hulk defeat an entire army?
